Overview
Monash University Malaysia offers the Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship – GEMS to Malaysian and international students who wish to pursue a full-time research PhD.
The scholarship provides a full tuition fee waiver, a monthly stipend and financial support for a research mobility period in Australia, Indonesia or India.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Apply for admission to a full-time research PhD program at Monash University Malaysia.

- Hold an academic qualification equivalent to a First Class Honours (H1) degree, as assessed by Monash University Malaysia.
- Satisfy the academic admission requirements for the chosen PhD program.
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements set by Monash University.
- Select only one research topic from the list of available GEMS projects.
- Submit a research proposal directly linked to the chosen topic.
- Submit a complete application with all necessary documentation.
- Willing to participate in academic or research support activities for a maximum of 240 hours per year.
- Commence studies within the scholarship award year, no later than October 15, 2026.
