Recognition is crucial because German universities need to verify the equivalence and quality of your previous academic qualifications. A recognized degree simplifies the admission process, validates your academic background, and ensures your eligibility for specific programs in Germany.

While the universities themselves are recognized, acceptance of specific programs can vary. Recognition is often strongest in fields like engineering, medicine, and applied sciences. Always verify the specific program and university requirements directly with the German institution you wish to apply to, as requirements can differ.

If your university isn't explicitly listed, it doesn't automatically mean your degree won't be recognized. You should still follow the verification steps: check the ZAB database, contact your university's international office, or consult the German Embassy. There might be a process for individual degree assessment for non-listed institutions.

No, recognition confirms the validity and equivalence of your degree. Admission to German universities depends on various factors, including your academic performance, language proficiency (German or English), specific program requirements, and the competitiveness of the applicant pool. Recognition is a vital first step, but not a guarantee of admission.
